Intro Acoustic Silver was born from the vision of two seasoned musicians Jake Hersher and Mark Wolfe who joined forces in Syracuse, NY to create a sound unlike any other duo.
How It Began Jake, after decades of performing across the U.S. and internationally, returned to Syracuse in 2024 with a concept: blending live vocals, flute, and dobro with handcrafted backing tracks and lush harmonies. His idea was to create the feel of a full band while keeping the intimacy of a duo.
The Partnership At the same time, Mark Wolfe, a respected percussionist and session drummer, was known for his versatility and ability to adapt across genres. When Jake and Mark combined their talents, the result was a seamless blend of melody and rhythm—Jake’s expressive voice and instruments paired with Mark’s driving percussion.
Today Together, they form Acoustic Silver, a duo that delivers the richness of a six‑piece band with the sophistication of jazz‑influenced improvisation. Their repertoire spans acoustic standards, rock favorites, smooth jazz, classic country, and roots music, captivating audiences across Central New York.

Jake Hersher – Vocals, Flute & Dobro
Intro Jake Hersher is a seasoned musician whose career spans more than five decades, blending classical training with jazz, acoustic, and world music influences.
Early Life & Musical Beginnings Born in Syracuse, Jake studied classical flute for over 10 years and began exploring jazz improvisation at age 13. His passion for music led him to perform in Syracuse, Buffalo, New York City, Miami, Israel, Switzerland, and Italy.
Musical Evolution In the late 1990s, while living in Miami, Jake discovered computer‑based music production. He began creating custom backing tracks that perfectly complemented his flute and vocal performances, reigniting his love for vocal harmony arrangements. Soon after, he taught himself the dobro, adding a warm acoustic texture to his sound.
Today Jake’s artistry combines expressive vocals, lyrical flute solos, and dobro stylings with handcrafted backing tracks. His vision gave birth to Acoustic Silver, a project that merges technology and tradition into a smooth, sophisticated sound.
Mark Wolfe – Percussion
Intro Mark Wolfe is a versatile percussionist and session drummer from Syracuse, NY, known for his ability to bring rhythm, texture, and energy to any performance.
Early Life & Musical Beginnings Mark grew up immersed in the Syracuse music scene, performing with local ensembles and honing his craft across multiple genres. His natural feel for rhythm and improvisation quickly made him a sought‑after collaborator.
Musical Evolution Over the years, Mark developed a unique style using congas, bongos, and a wide variety of world percussion instruments. His ability to adapt to acoustic, jazz, rock, and country settings makes him the perfect complement to Jake’s melodic approach.
Today As co‑founder of Acoustic Silver, Mark’s smooth yet driving percussion completes the duo’s signature sound. His rhythmic nuances bring Jake’s handcrafted tracks to life, transforming performances into a full‑band experience that captivates audiences.
